What is the most effective way to exercise?

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

It’s no secret that people who exercise are healthier, live longer, and are more confident. Healthier more confident people tend to get better jobs. You get more joy out of life. There are a lot of different ways we can exercise. So, the real question is what is the most effective way to exercise?

Over the last twenty-three years I have played at least a dozen different sports each with a different coach and each coach with a different training philosophy, style, and technique. No two bodies are the same. No two people like to exercise for the same amount of time or like to do it in the same way. How do you train twenty guys with different skill levels, body types, and eating habits?

On the other hand there is always common ground. I’m sure we all would like to have lower blood pressure. Most people that I know would definitely enjoy better endurance and stamina. Simple exercises like running and walking would certainly benefit everyone.

So, what is the most effective way to exercise? Some people want to lift weights in order to bulk up. Some people want to lift weights in order to tone muscle. Other people don’t want to lift weights at all. Some people run for recreation. Some people run at a more competitive level than others. If everyone has a different goal it’s not as simple as what is right and what is wrong.

Guidance on Taking Out Life Insurance

Monday, November 30th, 2009

Summary
Advice on what you should look for when taking out life cover. The distinction between term and total insurance is explained.

Life insurance offers you with the comfort that you have done everything you can for your dependants before you kick the bucket.
There are many traps you may fall into if you are not aware of  the finer details of life policies, so here are a few guidance points to ease the process.

• Seek autonomous legal advice and explore the marketplace to ascertain which product is the best one for you.

• Establish whether your employer or mortgage organisation already gives you with any insurance scheme

• Be quick to get insurance policyas the less old and fitter you are, the less strain on your pursestrings it will be.

•  Two discrete schemes may be more useful than a joint policy if you are a couple

• Costs vary quite a bit, so shop around for the best value, particularly on the web.

• Before contracting, be sure that your charges are fixed for the length of the scheme.
Life cover makes us consider of dying, which nobody wants to consider. It is so straightforward to say that I will sort out that life insuranceapplication tomorrow. On the other hand, if relatives are reliant on you financially, then it is important to have life coverand the faster it is signed up to, the better value it will be.

Only having life assuranceto shield your mortgage is insufficient, as your dependents may find it awkward to pay the bills without your salary. You should also consider adding critical illness insurance

The 2 cardinal catgoriesof life coverare called term and entire cover.

Term insuranceis a sort of life insurancethat remains in effect for a set amount of time.

Commonally this means terms of 10, 15, 20 or 30 years. Term life coveroften costs much less than total life insurance, due to the shorter amounts of time that the plan is in place. This attribute makes it appealing for those of us who cannot afford whole mortgage protection insurance , for less old people not ready for total life cover, or for those not needing longer term life insurance,. Your property and other financial possessions are completely protected throughout the time term of your plan. This type of scheme also offers financial reliance for your family in the event of you suffering dismemberment or being killed abruptly.

Entire life coveris so described because this conservative sort of life coverstays in effect for the life of the policy holder. Full life fees cost more than those paid for term life insurance, but full life insurancecarries a guaranteed death advantage and cash value amount. The financial amount of entire life insurancegrows much more than term life insurance, due to the longer term and higher amounts paid in premiums.. Shares are earned and can be used for unforeseen costs such as treating a major health problem. Whole life coveroffers the same financial cover for your loved ones, in the event of you experiencing freak or abrupt death, as term cover.

Model Railway Analog Wiring

Thursday, November 26th, 2009

Any analog model train and railroad hobbyists know that wiring and electrical setups is one of the most exciting and the most satisfying part of controlling the stop and runs of the set. Every train need to halt at every station and need to decelerate on every tight corner to prevent derailing. At every stop at every station, there is a certain amount of time where trains can simulate the loading and unloading of passengers or cargo. To make this automatic run possible when operating model trains and railways, you need to do some tinkering with the wires and add a few components.

In order to achieve this goal, you have to know where to isolate selected parts of the track and to configure the circuit board wirings that will control the speed and pace of the train when it goes through a certain portion of the track. One key component needed to be able to inform the circuit board when the train to stop is called a position sensor.

To slow down the train, you’ll need a circuit board type AS-1. A wire from the board connects to the isolated rail and one more wire should be linked to the powered rail on the same isolated track. A locomotive with a flywheel works best with this feature because it can slow down and start up gradually. The train will regain its utmost velocity once it is out of the non-isolated track.

To slow down, delay, stop and start the train a position sensor is needed together with a DT-4, TD-1 and AS-1 circuit boards. One wire should connect TD-1 and DT-4 circuit boards. Then connect a wire coming from the DT-4 to the isolated track and connect a separate wire from the TD-1 on a rail from the same isolated track. A third wire should link up TD-1 to AS-1 and a wire from the AS-1 should go to the non-isolated track.

When the train reaches the isolated track, it would slow down and will come to a stop by the time it intersects with the position sensor on the station. Depending on how long you set the duration for the train to stop on the circuit board, it will re-activate which will move the train at a start pace. As soon as it leaves the isolated track, it will pick up speed.

If you want your model trains to have a reverse direction, an AR-1 circuit board will do the job and two position sensors. Two independent wires from the AR-1 should connect to both rails on the track and one more couple of wires connects to the photo sensor.

If you don’t want to tinker with your wiring, then getting a Digital Command Control train set would be a better option. DCC enables you to command the train’s speed and route without doing any technical alterations.

Choose the Perfect Heater for Hottub Comfort

Wednesday, November 4th, 2009

It may seem as an afterthought to some people, as if hot tubs just produced the heat automatically and without any thought. But choosing the right type of hot tub heater is an important decision. It’s the heater itself that often is the determining factor between different brands or models, and it affects both the price and quality of a unit.

The two basic options for hot tub heaters are time controlled and temperature controlled. Before you make the decision between them, or the third option, a combination hot tub heater, you have to really understand the differences between them and what you will be getting when you make the purchase of one.

Temperature controlled heaters

The first type of hot tub heater is the kind that is controlled by temperature. This means that once the water temperature has reached a particular temperature, the heater shuts itself down automatically. For many people this is a great option because the water will never reach a dangerous or uncomfortable degree of heat; once it reaches the threshold it will safely and automatically turn itself off.

Some temperature controlled models allow you to choose from several different preset temperature choices. With others you can manually enter the temperature of your choosing and still others may only have one hotness setting. The general rule of thumb is that the more expensive the unit, the more choices you’ll have at your disposal for getting the exact temperature level you were looking for.

Timer controlled hot tub heater

Hot tub heaters that operated through the use of a timer have become much less popular than temperature controlled models. This is because they offer a less precise control over how hot the water gets, and they can be more dangerous. While they shut down automatically after a set amount of time, the water could become too hot before then and it won’t turn off until the timer completes itself.

Hot tub heaters that offer both time and temperature control

The best type of hot tub heater is that which works with both temperature control as well as on a timer.  The more safety features that are incorporated into a hot tub heater, the better the heater.  When you are using the hot tub for the first time, be sure to set the heater to low heat.  You should also talk to your doctor if you have an underlying condition that can be affected by the strong heat in the hot tub, although most doctors will recommend this type of hydrotherapy.  Look for a hot tub heater that offers as many safety features as possible for the best results when it comes to your hot tub experience.

Need a website boost. Try One Way Links.

Wednesday, October 14th, 2009

One way links explained as sign posts to your website with random anchor text is what we are all about. There is no use wasting your time trying to do this by hand. You really need to join a cooperative program like ours to be effective. Quality One Way links are the basis for solid link building programs. You can do a lot of things to promote your website but the truth is you really need lots of inbound one way links.

One way links are the most powerful web site promotion because they can reach deep into your site. Having a tons of links to your home page is good, but having 50% to you home page and a 2% to 5% to each of the other pages is far better. If your website is effectively constructed for human reading the main page is perhaps the most important but the other pages must be related and provide more details on the site focus.

Success in promoting a website is a long term job. You have to build slowly at first, pick up speed and keep some momentum when it comes to building links. Stopping is not an option.

When it comes to doing a SEO strategy the best are home grown ones. This is mainly because the owner or the site cares more and allocates the proper amount of time to make sure that it is success. SEO companies have to keep lots of clients happy to ensure cash flow. Being your own boss usually yields the best results. You care the most so should you should do the most.

One Way Links is our plan and it works very well. We recommend it because it works. After some consideration we have found it to be the most effective use of efforts.

The Advantages of Free PHP Scripts

Thursday, October 8th, 2009

If you are to succeed in a competitive online market then you will need some handy tools to help you to reach your goal. You’ll be losing so much profit if you were to hire a website design company to build you a custom site or script for each website you’re going to build. This is why people and groups have done the hard work for you – for free.

Here is a list of a few of the highly recommended free php scripts that can be downloaded and install within minutes, not only are they all very handy but they will save you a considerable amount of time and money.

1) One of the most popular scripts out there is Wordpress, which I am certain you’re already aware of. This blogging platform has been on the market for a long time now and nearly every blogger out there has or will use this system at some time. Its high end coding even allows the user to create their own mods and themes to change the style of their blog.

2) Another wonderful free php script would be Dolphin, a social networking script which enables you (the owner) to setup your own social network like Facebook, Myspace, Bebo, etc. Completely free of charge! This script can be edited very easily and you can change the way it looks with some small edits. It is a large script so it may take a while to get used to it, but this is a great script that should be downloaded even if you’re not interested in social networking.

3) Drupal is a leading content management system which is available for free. It’s more or less another Wordpress system, but unique in its own way and not specifically for bloggers. Drupal is aimed at providing webmasters with a CMS (Content Management System) that makes life easier when managing content and members. Not only does Drupal offer a fantastic open source CMS but it is built so that programmers can produce some excellent mods and addons to the system which can make life easier for other webmasters.

These are merely 3 of the most widely used free php scripts out there and definitely 3 of the most effective. There are many other php scripts out there that makes life easier for website developers & programmers but you’ll not find anything better than these specifically for the niche they’re used for.

5 Powerful Tips for Getting the Help You Need Online

Saturday, October 3rd, 2009

Copyright 2006 Tony Mase

In his book “How to Get What You Want“, Wallace D. Wattles, best known for his classic masterpiece “The Science of Getting Rich”, talks about the importance of “making constructive use of the people and things in your environment” in getting what you want.

One way you make constructive use of the people and things in your environment is to get the help you need, when you need it.

If you spend any amount of time on the Internet, you’ll occasionally need someone’s help…

It might be help with an online purchase, technical support for a product, or some other kind of help.

Regardless of the kind of help you need…

The manner in which you ask for that help will determine the quality and the quantity of the help you receive now and in the future.

You see…

There are two ways you can ask for help online…

One is “constructive”…

The other is “destructive”.

When you ask for help in a constructive manner, you’ll get the help you need, when you need it, and you’ll “build” a relationship that’ll keep the door open for future help.

On the other hand…

When you ask for help in a destructive manner, although you might get the help you need this time, you’ll “destroy” any chance of a relationship and close the door to future help.

Based on the thousands of questions and support requests I’ve received and answered online, here are five powerful tips that’ll help you get the help you need, when you need it, and get it in a way that’ll leave the door wide open for future help:

Tip #1 – Don’t lead with your chin.

Leading with your chin is a great way to get knocked on your…

Well…

You fill in the blank. :-)

The single most important thing you need to remember when you’re asking for help online, whether you’re asking by email or by filling out an online form, regardless of how angry or frustrated you might be, is that there’s a real “live” person on the other end…

A person who has “feelings” just like you do!

Including phrases in your first request for help like…

“Are you going to help me right now, right this minute, or are you going to give me my money back?”…

Or…

“I’m starting to think this is a scam!”…

Or…

“If I don’t hear back from you in one hour, I’m going to call my lawyer!”…

Might make you feel good, but they’ll virtually guarantee whatever help you do get right now will be minimal, at best, and your chances of getting anything other than minimal help from that person again in the future will be somewhere between slim and none.

Tip #2 – Be polite.

For some strange reason, one I’ve yet to figure out, many people seem to think the rules of simple, common courtesy don’t apply online…

Don’t you be one of them!

A request for help written in a polite tone, using “please” and “thank you”, will, more often than not, get you a prompt and courteous reply.

Tip #3 – DON’T SHOUT!!!

Whether you know it or not, typing your request for help in all capital letters is the online equivalent of shouting in the face of the person who receives it…

And…

The liberal use of multiple exclamation marks makes your shouting even louder and more emphatic!

Question for you…

Do you like it when someone shouts in your face?

Guess what?

Neither does anyone else! :-)

Tip #4 – Keep your request short and to the point.

Most people doing business online don’t have the time to read long, drawn out messages trying to figure out what you need, nor do they have the time to keep writing you back over and over again trying to clarify what you need.

When you ask for help online, *always* include your name, contact information, order information, specific dates, specific details, and a clear, concise description of the help or information you need.

Avoid including any information that doesn’t directly contribute to helping the person you’re asking for help to give you the exact help you need.

Tip #5 – Say thank you.

After you’ve received the help you’ve asked for, a simple “thank you!” or “thanks, I appreciate your help!” will go a long way towards insuring the door will be wide open the next time you need that person’s help again.

Once again…

The single most important thing you need to remember when you’re asking for help online is that there’s a real “live” person on the other end.

Treat that person as you’d like to be treated and you’ll find as I have that, more often than not, you’ll get all the help you need, when you need it, and that person’s door will always be open to you should you need their help again.

Clever Tips For Lowering Your Auto Insurance Premium

Thursday, October 1st, 2009

Most people feel that they would rather avoid the topic of car insurance. This can usually conjure thoughts of a large monthly fee, and lots of fine print. Fortunately there are methods of obtaining a lower insurance premium without having to take out minimum coverage.

Firstly, if you are still looking at which car to purchase, take the time to consider the impact on your premium that your choice of car will have. Most cars are rated by insurance companies according to their history of accidents and theft. Vehicles that are notorious for being a high theft risk and which are known for being involved in accidents will be more expensive to insure. Some vehicles that have been tested and are known to have increased safety features will also be cheaper to insure.

Think about the amount of time you spend on the road. Stop driving unnecessarily! The less you are on the road, the less chance you have of being involved in a collision. Getting involved in car pooling could also save you a lot of money on petrol, and will lower your risk of being involved in an accident. There are auto insurance companies that offer insurance on a pay as you drive basis, which means that the less you drive, the less you pay. This can be a good incentive for cutting back on your mileage and thus protecting the environment whilst lowering your chances of having an accident!

Another option to look at is to combine your insurance policies under one company. Some insurance companies will offer discounts to clients who put their health, life and household content insurance under them. You can find out what sort of deal you would get if you added your motor insurance to the policy.

Remember to get your hands on as many quotes as possible. The more quotes you have to choose from, the more informed your decision.

How to Make Money At Home Doing Surveys Online?

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

Yes, you CAN make money doing paid surveys from the comfort of your home. A lot of people have been doing this for years, including stay at home parents, college students , retirees, and anyone who wants to put in the effort.

Did I say effort? Yes, unfortunately you have to put some effort into taking surveys, and many people find that the amount of time put in is not worth the effort . When you look at it from one perspective , it may appear that you can make $50-$100 per hour. Marketers love to throw these figures around. The truth is that while some surveys may pay $25 for a 30 minute survey (the equivalent of $50/hour), you will also have to take a lot of other surveys where you get nothing except a sweepstakes drawing. What’s more, you have to spend a lot of time setting yourself up just to get started.

Nevertheless, most people who desire to work at home don’t have all day to devote to working. That’s why filling in surveys and participating in focus groups can still be a viable option as an entry level job. The key word is “job.” You will only get paid as long as you are taking surveys, so if you are looking for passive income or the kind of leveraged wealth building that owning your own business can provide, paid surveys won’t do it. But if you just want some occasional income from easy to perform online activites, it is worth giving paid surveys a try. It doesn’t even matter what country you live in, as there are international paid surveys as well as domestic ones.

One problems is that in order to get the most opportunites , you have to sign up with a lot of survey sites. So how do you find all these sites? Survey databases are available which give you a list of online survey companies. It’s too bad that most of the survey database sites charge you $35-$50 just to access their list. Fortunately there are other survey database sites that you can access for free. PaidSurveyMall is one such site, and it offers you a free list of paid surveys sites that you can join. Additional help is offered to make sure you have the best chance to succeed.

Although people living in the United States have the most chances to make money taking surveys , there are survey companies that offer residents worldwide the opportunity to make some additional income online through paid surveys. For example, PaidSurveyMall has segmented its list into sublists for residents of different countries. They have a list of Canadian paid surveys, as well as as a list of survey companies for UK residents, Australian residents, New Zealand residents and many others.

If you think you would be interested in getting paid for your time, opinions and observations, here are a few tips on being successful:

  1. REGISTER WITH AS MANY MARKET RESEARCH COMPANIES AS POSSIBLE: This can seem like a long task, but it will pay off. The more companies you register with the more chances to participate in surveys you will receive — which means more potential income for you.
  2.

  3. BE HONEST IN FILLING OUT THE SURVEYS : Companies are looking for people with different profiles to take their surveys. Trying to give them what you think they want will only get you in trouble.
  4.

  5. CHECK EMAIL REGULARLY: Most companies send out email invitations for the surveys they offer. They have a specific number of respondents they need, and when that quota fills up, the survey is closed. The surveys that pay the most fill up quickly, so it pays to check your email frequently to get in to those first.
  6.

  7. FILL IN THE EXTRA PROFILES: Most survey companies ask you to fill in additional profiles (i.e.: what vehicle(s) you own, your spending habits online, etc.) The better you fill in these additional profiles, the better you will qualify for more surveys that fit your situation.
  8.

You won’t break the bank taking online surveys, and there are definitely more lucrative ways to earn money online, but if you don’t want to take the time to learn all about internet business opportunities or don’t want to risk a lot of money starting from scratch, doing paid surveys can be a way to make a little extra spending money. You really don’t have much to lose by giving it a try!
